At Bad Shirt Club, mental health isn’t a side mission, it’s the reason we exist.
Our support for mental health is woven into everything we do, from the prints on our shirts to the pounds we donate. Every “bad” shirt we sell is a conversation starter with a cause, helping raise awareness, break stigma, and fund life-changing support for people battling mental health challenges.
Here’s how we put our purpose into action:
1. We raise awareness with every shirt.
Our designs are intentionally bold, weird, and wildly eye-catching, because they spark real conversations. When you wear a Bad Shirt Club shirt, you’re not just wearing something fun, you’re wearing a talking point. A conversation-starter. A subtle but powerful reminder that it's okay to open up, speak out, and be heard.
2. We fund mental health services.
A large portion of our profits goes directly to mental health charities, including organisations like Suffolk Mind. These donations help keep vital services running, from helplines and counselling to suicide prevention and educational resources. As of 2024, we've donated thousands to support this essential work.
3. We honour real people and real stories.
Bad Shirt Club was founded in memory of Aine, our founder’s best friend, who tragically lost her life to suicide. Her story is at the heart of our mission, and a powerful reminder of how invisible mental health struggles can be. Everything we do honours her legacy and aims to ensure fewer people suffer in silence.
4. We build confidence and community.
Mental health isn’t just about crisis, it’s also about confidence, connection, and joy. Our shirts help people feel bold, free, and seen. Whether you’re rocking one at a festival, pub night, or just for the hell of it, they help create shared moments, spark friendships, and remind wearers it’s okay to stand out.
5. We amplify the message.
From TikTok to real-life events, we use our platform to shine a light on mental health issues. We collaborate with creators, encourage community participation through our “Share While You Wear” campaign, and keep the conversation going in creative, engaging, and human ways.
In short:
Every shirt is a small act of rebellion, against silence, stigma, and shame. And with every order, you’re not just buying a shirt… you’re backing a movement.
Let’s get loud for something that matters.
